THis is Francis Alÿs
www.francisalys.com
| I always thought I should see Francis Alÿs in Mexico City, but then I heard that he moved away. google says that he's still there - Francis, can I come and visit? Are you lighthearted? |

STAMPING DIE MOLD
Some molds for a little product to be born soon. Why bother finishing the design when the tools are already so beautiful?

ENGELBERT KREMSER
What a futuristic and classy architect!
Apparently he did a few buildings in Berlin and it's probably worth checking if some of them are still existing - a to do for the spring time list. However I wonder if I would like his style if he was a contemporary architect. www.engelbertkremser.de Europa Center. Fotomontage

One of the first Akira Kurosawa films - from 1943.

How sad and touching this little video is! Lost in concrete, unspirited and true.

STANDARD TIME - DATENSTRUDEL
The great 24h video is finally available on DVD
Would be a perfect app for ipads -anyone willing to do the job?

Standard Time is an artwork of Mark Formanek, realized by Datenstrudel.

QUBIQUE "Next Generation Tradeshow"
I've just been to Berlin's new Design Fair at Tempelhof Airport:
www.qubique.com
As expected - not very inspiring. I didn't find much that I liked. Anyways, here is an exceptionally nice idea of upcycling: Old, persian rugs, re-dyed.

P R E V I E W: einblattkalender 2012
**The new 2012s are printed and on the online/in the stores in the next few days
I've already heard some interesting assumptions and interpretations:
The green logo looks like:
1. The cross section of a brain
2. A walnut
3. Grapes
4. Oak-leaf
5. A hanged Jesus
...and the embossed stamp a converted, ancient olympic medal
True is that we have fragmented card game symbols this year.
And it's our fourth issue - time flyes!

Pink
and hereby I officially promise to NOT post anything that's pink next time - believe me, it just happened somehow!!
TREMOR COSTUMES
Shaking, swinging, twitching, falling… What differentiates these modalities of movement? What constitutes their affect on our perception?
Designing and sewing costumes for a dance-performance was very challenging for me as I am a classic product designer. But with these highly motivated and emotionally close people everything is possible! After weeks of experimenting we finally decided on a very reduced, clean cut style. It all makes sense now, but it was a massive process. To find the perfect socks it literally took days!

The first costume I ever created (together with a group of product designers and a ceramic designer): A chemically decomposed coat and cracked mudd-makeup styling. Still waiting for the photos of a recent costume project...
